Released alongside the DuraXE clamshell, this 5-inch qHD (960 x 540) rugged smartphone addresses Kyocera's entry-level audience. Aside from its sub-par (relative to its release date) screen, which at least comes with a flexible acrylic lens finish , its cons also include a low 160.8-hour standby time , despite the passable 2160mAh power cap.
On the other hand, the Hydro View's pros causes us to view it in a more positive light. These include its IP57-certified waterproof body -- a signature facet for Kyocera models -- as well as 4G LTE connectivity . Additional specs include a 64GB microSD allowance , which we would take any day over the more widespread (in this department) 32GB capacity.
Sadly, the Kyocera Hydro View does not go beyond 5- and 2-megapixel cameras , which is particularly off-putting for a phone rocking a ruggedized set of pros and cons.
