Without enough Passmark data available at the time of this writeup, it is a challenge to tell which of the Redmi 3S or the Redmi 3 has the best in terms of performance. The 3's octa-core processor can reach 1.7Ghz, but the 3S has a 3GB RAM playing ground, compared to only 2GB for the Redmi 3, though 2GB versions of the 3S are also available in all three boring (let's face it) colors (black, silver, gold, and grey), which means a total of six different versions of the Redmi 3S are available. But we would hate to conclude on raw processor power without mentioning that the Redmi 3, from what we understand, seems to be stuck at its 1.7Ghz, while the 3S adopts the growingly-popular dual-clock-speed setup, hoping from 1.4 to 1.1Ghz cores, depending on the task at hand.
